The O’Keefe home was a 2-year project that restored and stabilized the home the artist made famous. At the time, Juan Hamilton (the artist’s employee and confidante) had just sold it to John and Anne Marion. Joel Muller, owner of Tent Rock inc. states, “We repaired extensive adobe damaged from drainage issues and roof leaks. Our crew put in new footings and anchored the house on 20 helical piers — giant screws driven up to 20 feet into the ground to prevent the structure from settling.” The final result was a restoration that stabilized the house without disrupting the historic fabric.
The home of the famed painter and furniture maker William Penhallow Henderson on Camino del Monte Sol is a historic adobe property that required experience, craftsmanship, and problem solving. The Henderson house is a splendid, early example of Spanish-Pueblo Revival style, also known as Santa Fe Style, architecture. The home needed extensive work to remain habitable. Tent Rock’s craftsman made new wooden frames for the windows and brought in stone masons and adobe experts to repair the crumbling walls.
