A 2008 solar-oriented Santa Fe custom home. Recognized at the Santa Fe Parade of Homes as Grand Hacienda First Runner-Up — plus Best Master Suite, Best Floor Plan, Best Exterior, Best Craftsmanship, and Most Innovative.
The brief
This 2008 build brings the light and space of New Mexico into seamless coexistence in a home shaped by solar orientation, clean contemporary lines, and a high-desert setting.
Awards
Calle Ventoso received the Santa Fe Parade of Homes' Grand Hacienda – First Runner-Up, along with Best Master Suite, Best Floor Plan, Best Exterior, Best Craftsmanship, and Most Innovative.
The house
Clean lines harmonize with stunning views framed by windows and sliding glass doors throughout. Neutral surface tones — including plaster walls in the public areas — make for a serene interior and a perfect space to showcase art and decor. An expansive open floor plan extends outside to a large portal that gives access to an attached guest house, a waterfall, and a koi pond centered in an oasis of green grass — all within a seductively sparse high-desert setting.
Our approach
A solar-driven plan with contemporary lines requires precision — the clean aesthetic exposes every joint. Tent Rock, Inc. self-performed the finish carpentry and integrated plaster work, coordinated the structural concrete, glazing, and mechanical trades, and built the landscape elements (portal, koi pond, waterfall, courtyard) as part of the single delivery package rather than as an afterthought.
